Catherine Cathy Fontenot

Cathy Fontenot, 61, of Lake Charles, Louisiana gracefully lost her battle with cancer at 1:45 AM Wednesday, February 5, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Cathy was born October 31, 1952 in Midland, Texas to Sullivan "S.B" and Hilda Fournerat. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, and camping. She also loved playing with her dogs Tuff and Olive. She is survived by her companion, Mark Broussard; three daughters, Darla Richey and husband Bruce of Tennessee, Kelly Dobson and husband Travis of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, and Laci Simonetti and husband Victor of Burnham, Pennsylvania; one step daughter, Kimberly Waddle and husband Steve of Hurst, Texas; three sisters, Beverly Fontenot and husband Bob, Jan Hebert and husband Ronnie, and Ruth Scranton all of Lake Charles; two brothers, Mark Fournerat and wife Diana of Many, Louisiana and Mike Fournerat and wife Sandy of Lake Charles; and seven grandchildren, Isaac Smith, Bryce Dobson, Caleb Smith, Brenna Dobson, Aubree Dobson, Steven Waddle, and Haley Waddle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Ted Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cajun Cuties for a Cure in care of American Cancer Society, 3919 Common Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70607. A special thanks to Sharon Chesson for the many hours of dedication and care to Ms. Catherine Fontenot. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private service will be held by the family.
