Cecil Adrian

June 13, 1935 — September 30, 2018

Cecil Adrian, 83, of Lake Charles, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Sunday September 30, 2018 following an extended illness.

Cecil was born in Lake Charles, LA on June 13, 1935, to German Cecil Adrian and Estelle Simon. He began work in the pipeline industry at the age of 16 and continued until his retirement in 2002. He served in the U.S. Army, and later as a construction worker he traveled all over the world. Cecil was a former member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union 106 and Pipeliner’s Local 798. He was a member of Krewe de la Famille, a former parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, and a member of the Serra Club of Lake Charles.

He seldom said much but when he did, you’d better listen because he had a very sharp wit. His heart and home were always open to everyone. He was Paw Paw Cecil to many more than just his grandkids.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 61 years, Ira Belle Cormier Adrian, whom he married on June 2, 1957; one son, Dr. Cecil Mitchell Adrian (Melisa) and one daughter, Maureen Poe (Gene) both of Lake Charles; one sister, Mary Anne McKenzie of Hideaway TX; three brothers, Bob Adrian (Karen) of Fruitvale, TX; Lewis Adrian of Garland TX and , Paul Broussard (Mary) of Beaumont TX; five grandchildren; Caleb, Adrianne and Derek Poe, Katelynn Adrian and step-grandson, Travis McMillian.

Preceding Cecil in death are his parents and brothers, Jack Adrian and Whitney Broussard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Monsignor Danny Torres and Rev.
