Celila Roberts White

October 20, 1971 — December 19, 2010

Celila Roberts White, 39, of Lake Charles died at 12:20 AM on Sunday, December 19, 2010 in a New Orleans hospital.

Celila was born on October 20, 1971 in Lafayette and lived most of her life in the Southwest Louisiana area. She attended Kinder High School and McNeese State University. Celila worked in the legal field, holding various positions for more than a decade while also a full time mother. Celila was a member of the University United Methodist Church.

Kind Hearted and fiercely protective, she was welcoming and overly generous to everyone around her. Occasionally boisterous and eternally outspoken, her dry, intelligent and often blunt sense of humor left most laughing and many just shaking their heads. She was passionate about her family, her friends and making people fullfull of laughter, full of love and full of food. She loved deeply and was loved dearly by those that knew her and although many of her dreams will go unmet and accomplishments unsung, her children are the living authentication of everything she stood for. She was the pillar of that family, a beautiful mother, wife, sister and daughter that has been taken too soon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard White of Lake Charles; five children, Jonathan Christian Tyler Roberts, Brendon Nicholas Alexander Roberts, Celona Madison Camille Roberts, Duncan Anthony Knox White, and Wilson Donavan Carter White all of Lake Charles; her mother, Sandra Nevils Roberts of Kinder; her father, Ron Roberts of Sulphur; and a brother, Joshua Roberts of Kinder.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charlie Langford will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

The young men serving as pallbearers are friends of her children. They all called her "mom."
