Charlene Monceaux Carlin, 66, of DeRidder, LA passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Carlin was born and raised in Crowley, LA, was educated in Crowley and the Winnie, TX area and lived most of her life in the Lake Charles area. She has lived the past eight years in DeRidder with her daughter. She attended Job Corp and returned to Crowley and began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in several local nursing homes and a private nurse. She also worked for American Press, and as an insurance agent for several years . Mrs. Carlin was formerly a member of the Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed flower gardening, word search puzzles, bingo and being with her family.
Mrs. Carlin will be most remembered for her generosity and as a loving mom.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Bryan Garrie and wife JoEllen of Crowley; Madeana Irvine and husband Frank of DeRidder and Arthur Cormier of Moss Bluff; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-children, Eric Lee Carlin and wife Kellie of Fenton and Dennis James Carlin and wife Alicia of Lake Charles;also ten more step-children; twenty one step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and one sister, Lisa Nugent of Livingston, TX and extended family.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, LeRoy Cormier and Eric Lee Carlin Sr.; her parents, Arthur and Louise LaVergne Monceaux; three brothers, Donald, Charles and Gerald Monceaux and one sister, Geraldene Carlin.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 05, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the services.
