Charlene “Charlie” O’Malley, 73, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:36 AM on Friday, March 14, 2025 in a local hospital.
Born and raised in Lake Charles, Mrs. O’Malley graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1969 before continuing her education at McNeese State University, where she earned an associate's degree in Secretarial Science. She went on to work as an executive assistant to a plant manager, dedicating many years to her career before retiring from Sasol.
An active and faithful member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Mrs. O’Malley has always been deeply involved in her community. Dance has also been a lifelong passion, starting at a young age and extending to teaching dance classes in Westlake.
Outside of work and church, she has always enjoyed spending time in nature, particularly through a love for yard work and being outdoors.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Albert “Al” O’Malley, III and a son, Albert O’Malley, IV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Nels Berglund; a brother, Ronnie Berglund; and in-laws, Irene and Steve Pressley.
