Charles Archie Hebert

Charles Archie "Chuck" Hebert, 83, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:36 AM on Friday, October 24, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Hebert was born November 30, 1930 in DeQuincy, LA and attended Gillis High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and has lived all of his life in the Lake Charles area. Mr. Hebert began his career in sales for United Gas. Most of his career was in the mobile home industry, where he was the owner and operator of Abear Mobile Homes for over twenty years. He also owned various bars and restaurants throughout the years. He served as a past president of the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Association and served on their board of directors for a number of years. Mr. Hebert attended Lake City Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and student of the game. He also enjoyed snow skiing, playing Gin, beating his children in Ping Pong, and loved to teach his family to dance. He adored his family and his grandchildren and will be missed dearly. Mr. Hebert is survived by his wife, Karla Martin Hebert, who possessed his heart for the past twenty years; children, Debbie Hebert Loftus, Craig Hebert, Becky Hebert Lambert, Patti Hebert Cryer, Scott Hebert and wife Karen, Bruce Hebert, Clayton Hebert and wife Brenda, and Candace Hebert Armstrong; step-children, Carmen Sweeney and husband Rick, Chad Ardoin and wife Jessica, and Kelly Fiaschetti and husband Jeff; sisters, Myrna Alvarez and Gerry McClellan; twenty-three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Duff Allen Hebert; children, Brian Cole Hebert, Sr. and Vicki Lea Hebert; and brothers, Patrick Hebert and Wilbur Hebert. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
