Charles Michael Boggs, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on October 11, 1956 in LaGrange, GA to Charles Edward and Martha Shortte Boggs.
Michael’s family moved from Georgia to Lake Charles, LA when he was five years old. He remained in the Southwest LA area the majority of his life, with the exception of spending eight years in Kerrville, Tx. He and his wife, Deborah returned to Lake Charles in order to spend time with family and grandchildren.
Michael worked numerous odd jobs during his young adulthood, one of which was being a cook. Ultimately, he always knew he wanted to be a paramedic. He worked for Holston Ambulance Service in Lake Charles initially, and then for Acadian Ambulance Service out of Lafayette for 28 years.
Michael valued family life more than work. His family, coworkers, and friends say he was a good man with a kind heart. He was known for keeping the birthdays of family and friends on his phone and calling them every year on their birthday. For some people, he was the only one who called them on their birthday. He had a quick and mischievous wit/sense of humor, along with a memory that was way too good. Finally, he was a Godly man, not perfect, but he loved the Lord and his faith was deep.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 43 years, Deborah Boggs, his 3 daughters, Anna Rose, Rachael Trahan (Jet Trahan), Claire McCann (Zach McCann) and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sharon Breaux, and their son Christopher Rogers.
