Charles Bryan “Charley” Patterson earned his guardian angel wings on April 22, 2021 at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Charley was born on February 13, 1979 in Lake Charles. He was a lifelong resident in the Lake Charles area, where he graduated from Alfred M. Barbe High School in 1997. He played football and ran track with a competitive spirit. He was a pilot and lived for adventure, but his greatest love was “digging” in the dirt. He started farming rice with his dad at a young age and was the happiest being on a tractor. A career change and a dream led him to his invention of Pipe Gator in 2010. His inquisitive imagination to create, build, and fix things left us in awe.
Charley strived for perfection and that determination courageously pushed him through his many battles. He inherited a passion for cooking from his dad - brisket and fried pork chops were his specialty. He will be fondly remembered for his infectious hearty laugh and his wild sense of humor. He was always ready for karaoke with his favorite song, “Ice Ice Baby.” Charley had a heart of gold and a head of iron. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, for he was truly one of a kind.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Alayna Joye Patterson, and two adored children, Gunnar and Remmi; his mother, Brenda Powell (David); two sisters, Diana Dressler (Andy), and Leah Bordelon; and his grandmother, Dorothy Baker. He was proceeded in death by his father, Harry G. “Butch” Patterson III, and his stepmother, DeeDee Patterson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM with a celebration of life service at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles, 320 Bunker Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70615. Rev. Jeffrey Ralston will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Patterson Family to assist with funeral expenses and medical costs.
