Charles Danny Devillier, Sr.

Charles Danny DeVillier, Sr., 76, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mr. DeVillier was born June 16, 1944 in Ville Platte, LA and lived in New Iberia before moving to Lake Charles fifty years ago.  He was a graduate of Ville Platte High School and Barber College.  He worked as a barber for over fifty years.  Mr. DeVillier was an active member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church, where he served as an usher.  He was dedicated to his church and his family and enjoyed cooking for them.

Mr. DeVillier is survived by his children, Charles Danny DeVillier, Jr. and wife Dana, Victoria DeVillier Brown and husband Hoyt, Marcellus DeVillier, and Robert DeVillier and wife Tarinda; sisters, Katheline Soileau and husband Jim and Dorothy Chapman; brother, Dowell DeVillier and wife Norma; grandchildren, Tela Lambert (Dusty), Ashley O’Neal (Tim), Brennon Brown (Sarah), Ashton Brown (fiancée Kayla Gray), Sara Brown, Ethan DeVillier (fiancée Natasha Grapes), Patrick DeVillier, Aaron DeVillier, Hannah DeVillier, Connick DeVillier, Rieland DeVillier and Anna DeVillier; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Xander, Lily, and Bentley Lambert, Ella, Brooks and Leven O’Neal, and Hudson, Emery, and Caroline Brown; and his beloved dog, Little Man.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Martha Thompson DeVillier; parents, Charles and Emma DeVillier; sister, Mavis LaFleur; and brothers, Silton and George DeVillier.

His memorial service will be at 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church.  A gathering of family members and friends will begin at the church at 1:30 PM on Sunday.
