Charles Edward "Eddie" Wade

Charles Edward “Eddie" Wade, 85 died peacefully on September 29, 2021 in Lake Charles, LA with his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty, by his side. 

Eddie Wade was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia.  He attended and  graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and was a member of Lambda Xi Alpha fraternity.  After graduation, he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Gordon of Dalton, Georgia.  Shortly after graduation, Eddie served in the National Guard under the United State Air Force.  Mr. Wade is the founder and former CEO of Thermoplastic Services, Inc. in DeQuincy, LA.  He dearly loved his family and was a friend to everyone he met.  Eddie was the kind of person who made you feel like you were the most important person in the world when you were in his presence.  His enthusiasm and love of the outdoors was always shared abundantly with his family and friends.

Eddie Wade is survived by his spouse of 63 years, Betty Gordon Wade.  Also left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Leslie Wade Huckabee and son, Ashley Wade and his wife, Karen Wade.  His treasured grandchildren are Colter Huckabee, Charlotte Wade Henry, and Clara Wade.  Eddie is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Farber and Claudette Phifer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Edward Wade and Clara Edith Burgess Wade of Dalton, Georgia along with a sister, Vivian Wade who died as a child. 

A private memorial service for the immediate family was held at Henning Memorial United Methodist church.  Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
