Langford Peavy, 68 of Johnson Bayou passed away on April 26, 2012. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur with Rev. Jack Gandy officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2012 starting at 2 p.m. until time of service. Langford was a native of Sumter, South Carolina and a longtime resident of Johnson Bayou. After high school, he served his country in the U S Navy. He worked for the Cameron Parish Police Jury in Holly Beach for 17 years and was a member of the Holly Beach Fire Department for 31 years where he was currently serving on the board. He was a past member of the Cameron Parish Tourist Commission, Cameron Parish Civil Defense, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Cajun Riviera Festival Board and past owner of the Sea Breeze Motel. Langford is survived by his wife, Jewell Peavy of Johnson Bayou; five daughters, Lisa Sonnier, Denise Trahan and husband, Eldaw, Tracy Peavy and fiance Doug Denton, Terri Menard and husband, Ricky all of Carlyss and Robin Badon and husband, Russell of Johnson Bayou; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jeanette Peavy; two brothers, Clarence Peavy Jr.; and Gene Peavy Sr.; son-in-law, Steve Sonnier; and grandson, Jason Meaux.
