Charles Lee Buller

Charles Lee Buller, 86, of Lake Charles died Monday, January 16, 2023 in a local hospital.

Mr. Buller was born, raised and educated in Elton, LA.  He served the United States Army National Guard most actively following Hurricane Audrey.  He began his thirty-eight-year career with Haliburton in Lake Charles and later transferred to Evanston, Wyoming where he retired a Supervisor.  Mr. Buller was an admirable man of his generation.  He worked hard, provided well and looked forward to the travel plans Mrs. Buller made his family each year.  He enjoyed spending time as family during the adventures of a two-week camping trip each summer and a week in the mountains every winter.   Following the loss of his beloved wife, he retired and made Lake Charles his home again.  Mr. Buller was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan, McNeese Football fan and an active member of the McNeese Cowboy Club.

He leaves to honor his memory one son, Ben Buller and wife Amelia of Lake Charles; two daughters, Reneé Buller Beslin of Rayne and Regina Buller of Lake Charles; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-nine years, Margaret “Maggie” Sonnier Buller; son-in-law, Mark F. Beslin and parents, Yeve Buller and Vena Garbarino Buller.

The family of Mr. Buller would like to express heartfelt thanks to staff of The Gardens, Guardian House and Geriatric Resources for their excellence in care of  and compassion.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2023 at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Monsignor Harry Greig  will officiate.  Interment services will follow at Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation Thursday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
