Charles Louis Lyons

Charles Louis Lyons, 90, of Lake Charles died at 7:14 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Lyons was born on September 24, 1921 in Lake Charles, LA and lived here all of his life. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Soldier. He was a member of the VFW on Legion St. He began working at Entex in 1941 and retired in 1980. Mr. Lyons was a charter member of Lake Charles Bible Church where he was an usher.

Those left to cherish his memory are his five step children, Birdie Mallett and husband Jimmie, Duford Harrington, Joyce Harrington, Ronald Harrington and wife Wanda, and Donald Harrington and wife Candy all of Lake Charles; a nephew-in-law, Christopher R. Hines of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Karen Abedinzadeh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and Charlie Lyons; his step father, Gilbert Hebert; his first wife, Wanda Lyons; and his second wife, Edith Harrington Lyons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Lake Charles Bible Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM in the funeral home and will continue in the church from 1:00 PM until the start of the services.
