Charles Ray Jones, Sr.

Charles Ray Jones, Sr., 70, of Lake Charles died at 4:05 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in an Oberlin care facility.

Mr. Jones was born on June 17, 1946 in Pineville, LA and was raised in Oberlin, LA.  He had lived in Lake Charles for more than 40 years.  Mr. Jones served as a Sergeant in the US Army.  He was a retired State Trooper for the state of Louisiana where he was a Senior Master Trooper and served on the SWAT team and was also a trainer.  He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Luna “Lula” Ceaser Jones of Lake Charles; three children, Charles Ray Jones, Jr. of Lake Charles, Ervin Jones (Jennifer) of Port Allen, LA, and Charlotte Jones of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, KaDeisha Jones of Lake Charles and Desireé and Danielle Jones both of Port Allen, LA; and a host of relatives and family that loved him.  He also leaves behind his siblings.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church.  The Rev. Tim Goodly will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Thursday from 8:30 AM until the start of the service with a rosary being recited at 10:00 AM.
