Charles Robert Waldmeier

Charles Robert Waldmeier, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 26 ,2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA.  He was a graduate of LaGrange High School.

Chuck liked working on cars and working with his hands which led him to a career as a maintenance technician for 16 years at FairviewCrossing Apartment Complex in Lake Charles.

Chuck’s passion and love was fishing with his best friend and brother George and nephew Louis.  Chuck and George learned their love of fishing from their father.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Banzhof Waldmeier; his father,George Louis Waldmeier II; and a sister Susan Waldmeier.

Left to cherish his memory is his brother and sister-in-law, George Louis III and Beverly Waldmeier. His fishing buddy and nephew George(Louis) Waldmeier IV all of Sulphur, LA.

His three sisters, Kathleen Appelbaum of Warren TX; Sally Pickering of Onalaska TX; Patricia(Patty)Waldmeier of Lake Charles, LA; 2 nieces: Amanda Appelbaum and Lisa Appelbaum; nephew Daniel Guillory.

Chuck will always be remembered for his kindness to everyone he knew. He was a caring, gentle, and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Although he is no longer in our lives, he will forever be in our hearts.

He was truly one of God’s blessings to us all.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home, 3448 5^th Ave. Lake Charles.  Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm.
