Charles Vernon Weeks

Charles Vernon Weeks, 74, of Lake Charles died Monday, August 19,2013, in a Lake Charles Hospital.

Mr. Weeks was a native and life resident of Lake Charles and a graduate of Marion High School. For many years he owned and operated Lakeshore Conoco.

Mr. Weeks served in the U. S. Army, Quartermaster Corps during the Vietnam War. Always active in community affairs, Mr. Weeks was a member of various Mardi Gras Krewes and was a member of the Contraband Days Board of Directors for over fifty years.

After his retirement Mr. Weeks worked part time for National Bio-Care.

He is survived by his wife B. J. (Billie Jean Flournoy) Weeks; a daughter Tammy Hardee and her husband Rick; stepchildren, Jackie Gremillion and husband Lane, Kasha Jeter and Keith LeJeune, Dwight LeDoux and wife Jennifer; grandson, Grayson Hardee; step-grandchildren, , Logan Laviolette, Cody Hebert, Rachel Gremillion, Mason Gremillion, Kade Jeter, Gavin Jeter, Seth LeDoux, Jerica LeDoux and seven great grandchildren.

He is also survived by brothers A. J. Weeks and his wife Evelyn and James Weeks and wife Emma Mae; a sister Jeanette Weeks Langford and husband Bobby Dale as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in his death by his parents, Johnnie and Elma Martin Weeks and a twin brother Robert Weeks.

Known by most everyone as Mr. Charles, he loved NASCAR , boating, skiing, hunting, and music.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Eric Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
