Charles Wilson Blake

Charles Wilson Blake, 81 of Sulphur passed away on May 6, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Sulphur, LA under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Charles was a native of Chickasaw, AL and a longtime Sulphur resident. After high school he worked as a logger in Washington then served his country in the U S Navy during the Korean War. While in the military he married Lorraine Williams and came to Sulphur when he was discharged. He worked for Continental Oil in Panama, where he helped start the first refinery. Charles later retired from Trans-Continental Gas Pipe Line as a Maintenance Supervisor. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine Blake of Sulphur; two sons, Bart Blake and wife, Sandy of Sulphur and Ricky Blake and wife, Jan of Carlyss; two grandchildren, Shannon Blake and Courtney Blake both of Sulphur; one great-grandson, Ashton Blake of Sulphur; two step-grandchildren, Luke Billiu of Houma, LA and Hunter Billiu and wife, Jessica of Baytown, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Adams.
