Charlie Leblanc

March 27, 1965 — August 19, 2023

After a nearly two-year battle with cancer, Charles “Charlie” Whitney LeBlanc passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family on August 19, 2023 at the age of 58.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milfred LeBlanc; mother, Leone Benoit LeBlanc; and nephew, Jessie LeBlanc. Charlie leaves behind his bride of 27 years, Rhonda Woodham LeBlanc; son, Trevor Whitney LeBlanc (and wife Carleigh) and son, Dustin John LeBlanc (and wife Gabbi); granddaughter, Eleanor Whitney LeBlanc and dog Remi-girl. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, and siblings.

Born in Isola, Mississippi on March 27, 1965, Charlie was the youngest of eight children including: Gloria Dean LeBlanc, Ray LeBlanc (married to Jaime LeBlanc), Peggy Blessing, Deanna Gibbons (married to Gary Gibbons), Cathy Goodeaux (married to Jerry Goodeaux), Tommy LeBlanc (married to Carole LeBlanc), and Ronald LeBlanc. By the age of 14, Charlie was already demonstrating his impressive work ethic by working in the rice fields with his father, in addition to many other responsibilities. He graduated from Iowa High School in 1983, and later became the Owner/Operator of Charles LeBlanc Trucking for nearly 30 years.

Charlie’s main priority was always family over everything else. He also loved spending time at his camp at Toledo Bend, working in his yard, riding Harleys with friends, listening to Cajun music, and had a passion for collecting classic cars, including his ’53 Chevy Pickup and two beautiful Chevy Chevelles. Charlie will be remembered for his handiness and his sense of humor, among many other genuine qualities. You could always count on him to say “I tell you what…” There was never a dull moment when Charlie was around.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Aimee Allen, NP at Dr. Shahid's office and her staff of medical professionals, Heart of Hospice, Navarre Auto Group, and for the care he received at the Infusion Bay of Lake Area Hospital. In addition, the family is grateful for the many texts, calls, prayers, and love received from friends and family during this time.

Services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Lake Street. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22nd from 4 to 8 PM and August 23rd from 9 to 11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM Wednesday morning. Reverend Gregory Bath will officiate.  Interment services will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Pallbearers for his services will be Trevor LeBlanc, Dustin LeBlanc, Scott Anderson, Brandon Leccese, Jeff LeBleu, Tommy LeBlanc, Ronald LeBlanc and Braylin Pike. Honorary pallbearer for his service is Joseph LeBlanc.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org/louisiana.
