Charlotte Charlet

Charlotte Charlet, 63, of Lake Charles died at 3:10 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 in a New Orleans hospital following a lengthy battle with Parkison's disease.


Mrs. Charlet was born on February 11, 1948 in Lake Charles. She spent most of her life here, graduating from LaGrange High School in 1966 before earning a degree in education from McNeese State University. Mrs. Charlet retired as a purchasing agent from Citgo after 25 years. She was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church.


She loved her grandchildren dearly and also took great pride in working in her yard. Mrs. Charlet had an unconditional love for her pet companions.


Some of Mrs. Charlet's greatest times were often spent with her husband on cruise ships.


Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 41 years, Charles "Chuck" Charlet of Lake Charles; a son, Chad Charlet and wife Angele of Metairie; a daughter, Christa Comeaux and husband Ronnie of Lake Charles; a sister, Linda Mount of Lafayette; a brother, Scott Chafin of Shreveport; and three grandchildren, Corey and Cara Charlet both of Houston and Trey Comeaux of Lake Charles.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Morgan Chafin and a brother, Bob Chafin.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 18, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
