Charlotte Levingston Metcalf, 62, of Lake Charles entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, but recently a resident of Lafayette, Charlotte was born to William Edward and Gloria Loraine Levingston. She was a 1967 graduate of Lake Charles High School and a true LCHS Wildcat. She had friends all over America and she truly loved each of them. She loved to socialize, have parties and spend game nights at home with friends. Charlotte was a member of The Vineyard Church and The Cowboy Church. She loved the Lord and lived to serve Him. She began a Lake Charles craft group called "Up the Beaded Path" for beading jewelry and generously taught anyone who wanted to learn the art.
Charlotte was also a member of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) and wrote the newsletter for the local "Up the Creek Gang." She was an avid photographer and an aficionado of old movies. She was a tremendous fan of John Wayne and Robert Duvall and had plans to meet Robert Duvall at his farm in October of this year. Charlotte contributed to the internet historical pictures of early Lake Charles that her father took. These pictures are to be used as archival information for a book to be released in 2012.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lee Mitchell Metcalf; son, Daniel Lee Metcalf of New York City, NY; stepfather, Lee English of Lake Charles; brother, Doug Levingston and wife Coco of Lake Charles; sister, Anna Levingston of Lake Charles; and a large extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Levingston English.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2PM-10PM and will continue Thursday from 8AM until time of service.
