Chase Christien Drake

August 22, 2004 — May 4, 2018

Chase Christien Drake was born on August 22, 2004 and took his last breath in the arms of his mother and father on the evening of May 4, 2018.

Although he was born disabled and never had the ability to walk or talk, endured many surgeries, and suffered from chronic pain, he was always surrounded by people who loved him unconditionally.  During the early years of his life when he was able to swallow, he loved lollipops and drinking root beer from a baby bottle.  From the time he was young until his final days, he enjoyed listening to classical music and his favorite things in the world were kisses, tickles, being held, and being with his family.  His brilliant smile and laughter can never be forgotten.  We are thankful for the memories we made with Chase but have comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.  Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Chase is survived by his mother and father, Jacqueline LeDay Drake and Marshall Drake, Jr.; his little brother, Marshall Drake III also known as Trey; his grandmothers, Minerva Broussard Francois (Lake Charles) and Barbara Garrick Drake (Lake Charles); his grandfather, Raymond LeDay (Lake Charles); his aunties, Katherine LeDay, Angela LeDay, Felicia Drake Schexnayder (Damin); his uncles, Raymond LeDay, Jr. (Tamara), Brian Wayne LeDay (Suzette); his cousins, Phillip Perrodin, Jr, Mark LeDay, Olivia Lewis, Matthew LeDay, Isiah Victorian, Anthony Perkins, Micheal Victorian, Laiken Drake, Ashley Carey, Joshua Victorian, Alora LeDay, Braylon LeDay, Brycen LeDay, Raven McFadden, Drake Schexnayder, Jaxin Schexnayder, DJ Schexnayder, and Destini Schexnayder; and his Godmother, Charlotte Broussard Carter.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Marshall Drake and uncle Renaldo Drake.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church followed by cremation. Father Matthew Cormier will officiate. Visitation will begin on Friday from 10:00 AM until leaving for the church at 12:30 PM with a rosary being recited at 12:00 PM.

Marshall and Jackie would like to thank everyone who has helped us in any way along this 13 year journey.   The gesture could have been big or small but please know that it impacted our lives in immeasurable ways.   We would also like to thank his caregivers, doctors at Texas Children's Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Pediatric hospice.
