Cherris Joseph Dupree, 91, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:41 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2014 in a local care facility. He was a native of Mermentau and lived in Lake Charles for fifty-nine years. Mr. Dupree was a member of The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception serving as an Usher, Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus serving with Council #1207 and the Fourth Degree Knights of Monsignor Cramer. He worked for Borden's Inc for thirty-seven and half years, Calcasieu Marine National Bank, First Federal National Bank, and Players International. He retired from both Borden's Inc. and First National Bank. Survivors include four daughters; Mary Linda Borck of Hudson, MI, Loretta Ann Leger and husband Rodney, Anna Gail Allen and husband Michael, all of Lake Charles, and Betty Jean Rowe and husband Robert of Jacksonville, Fl; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and son-in-law Jimmy Williams. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty nine years, Mary Lois Doucet Dupree; daughter Ellen Joyce Williams, and son-in-law James Henry Borck. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2014 in The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. Reverend Charles McMillin will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
