Cheryl Townsend

Cheryl Townsend, 76, of Denham Springs, formerly of Cameron Parish, passed away suddenly on Wednesday March 26, 2025, at her residence in Denham Springs.

Cheryl was a native of Ellisville, MS and a longtime resident of Cameron Parish. She enjoyed working with plants and was a florist. She was a homemaker and remembered for her love of Family and spending time with her Grandchildren. She was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her two Great grandsons, Milo Roy and Theo Stoute both due to arrive in September.

Cheryl was the mother of three daughters, Tara Elliott and husband Mark, Denham Springs; Lacey Huddleston, Denham Springs; Tracey Stoute, Denham Springs; grandmother to Kaleb Stoute (Reagan and Ashton), BaLeigh Roy (Leland Roy), and Hayden Elliott; and a sister to Ann Jefcoat, Glenda Ray, and Neil Payne.

Preceding Cheryl in death are her parents, Roy and Mary Payne, beloved husband of 53 years, Benny Townsend, sister, Ellen Pritchard and brother, Clay Payne.

As to her wishes, a private ceremony will be held at the family cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
