Chester J. Leblanc

November 3, 1946 — March 1, 2021

Chester James LeBlanc, 74, was called to his Heavenly home on Monday, March 1, 2021, following a lengthy illness.

Born in New Iberia, Louisiana to Sidney and Audrey Bodin LeBlanc, Chester was a graduate of Loreauville High School and served his country in the U. S. Navy in Vietnam. He was a life insurance salesman for Mid-South Insurance Agency and Audubon Insurance Agency for many years and was active in the Kiwanis Club during that time. Chester later joined the staff of Johnson Funeral Home, where for fourteen years he welcomed families with an encouraging smile and spirit as they stepped into the building. His health forced him into an early retirement.

Chester delighted in every moment spent with his family, and especially with his beloved grandchildren. He had a terrific sense of humor, joyfully helped others, and delighted in making his yard beautiful. Chester was genuine, good, kind, and a blessing to all who knew him; he will truly be sorely missed.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 48 years, Renee LeDoux LeBlanc; daughter, Allison Mitchell and husband Chris of Wake Forest, North Carolina; son, Jeremy LeBlanc and wife Amanda of Lake Charles; brother, Kernny LeBlanc and wife Diane of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Peyton Misselhorn, Mason LeBlanc and Brody LeBlanc. Chester was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raywood Bodin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Msgr. Daniel Torres will officiate. Entombment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until service time, with a rosary to begin at 12 noon.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given to their beloved husband and father to family friend, Ramona Meaux, Charmaine Mott, Alliance Healthcare Staffing, Ebony Ray of At-Home Compassionate Care, and Heart of Hospice-Southwest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
