Chet Andrew Soileau, 64, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 in his residence.

Chet was born on January 31, 1958 in Lake Charles, where he was a part of a Boy Scout Troop

that his mother Francis was Pack leader. He grew up riding motorcycles and bowling as a member of a bowling league for many years. He was a 1977 graduate of Alfred M. Barbe High School where he has served as part of the Reunion Planning Committee since graduating.

He loved golfing and hunting with his friends and sons.  He was regularly active in his children's track & field teams. In his spare time, he loved wood working and had a passion for gardening and landscaping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Gerald Soileau, Sr. and Francis Mary Manzella; his brothers, Michael K. Soileau and Gerald "Jerry" Soileau, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Avery Kate Soileau.

He leaves to honor his memory his children, Brandon (Brandi) Soileau, Cody Soileau, Jenny Soileau Grubbs (John) all of Lake Charles, and Emily Soileau of Covington; grandchildren, Hallie Soileau, Nicole Grubbs, Bently Soileau, Aubrey Soileau, John Austin Grubbs, Evie Soileau, Emma Grace Grubbs, and Ethan Grubbs all of Lake Charles; stepmother, Lottie Soileau of Lake Charles; one sister, Mary Suzette Eaves (Richard) of Cypress, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family members, Michael Ray Bridwell and Carolyn Jackson Bridwell “Nan” of Covington.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Tim Bergen will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the start of the service.
