Chief Hewman Willard Billy Bergeron

Mr. Hewman Willard "Billy" Bergeron, District Chief with the Lake Charles Fire Department, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 in Lake Charles. He was a native to of Eunice and a resident of Lake Charles since 1975.


Mr. Bergeron was born September 8, 1950 to Joseph and Bertha Bergeron. He was a graduate of Eunice High School, and he attended McNeese State University. He received specialized Fire training at LSU and Texas AM Fire Schools.


Mr. Bergeron was a thirty-six year veteran the Lake Charles Fire Department and

was a member of Firefighters Local #561.


Mr. Bergeron is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Bergeron; two sons, William Bergeron, and Brian Bergeron (Brandi) both of Lake Charles, one daughter, Lauren Guidry (Jace) of Lake Charles; two step sons, Kirk Marceaux (Tammy) of Lake Charles, and Koty Primeaux of Mobile, Alabama; three brothers, Glenn Bergeron of Moss Bluff, Terry Bergeron (Cindy) of Lake Charles, Tony Bergeron of Eunice; one sister Lisa Demerest (Ricky) of Eunice; 8 grandchildren.


Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2PM at Christian World Ministries. Pastor Jerry Snider will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery will full Fire Department Honors. Visitation will be held Wednesday in Johnson Funeral Home from 3PM-10PM and will continue Thursday from 8AM-12noon and from 12:30PM until time of service at Christian World Ministries.
