Chrissie Kay Carlsen-Gillett, 34, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Friday, September 12, 2014 in her residence. Chrissie was born March 3, 1980 in Port Arthur, TX and was raised in Groves, TX, where she graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1998. She moved to Lake Charles and attended McNeese State University, where she was active in Phi Mu. She a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and worked as a kindergarten teacher's aide at Our Lady Queen of Heaven School. Chrissie was very family oriented; loved her children dearly; and adored her three puppies. She always made others smile and will be missed dearly. Chrissie is survived by her son, Joshua Gillett; daughter, Isabelle Gillett; father of her children, Chris Gillett; mother, Patti Trimble and husband Gary of Iowa, LA; father, David Carlsen of Groves, TX; grandmother, Audrey Carlsen of Port Arthur, TX; nieces, Ashlynn and Brelynn Fontenot; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a host of children that loved her at school. She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Fontenot. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Phi Mu service at 6:00 PM and scripture service and rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
