Christine "Chris" Rosteet

Chris Rosteet, 52, of Lake Charles, LA passed away at 5:45 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Rosteet was born in Woodville, TX on May 28, 1961 to Nelson and Martha Crosby Swiger. Her family moved to Lake Charles around1964 where she later attended F.K. White Middle School and attended LaGrange Senior High School. Mrs. Rosteet made her career in the food industry working at The Plantation House in Lake Charles, was an area supervisor for Dairy Queen in Beaumont, Texas, and was an area supervisor for Subway in Lake Charles. Mrs. Rosteet was most recently employed for the past five years with the Calcasieu Parish School System as part of the cafeteria staff at Gillis and Moss Bluff Middle Schools. Mrs. Rosteet is survived by the love of her life husband Jerry Rosteet of Lake Charles, La; two sons, Chad Revell Everett and wife Danielle of Dallas, TX and Brandon Guy Keene and wife Sarah of Lake Charles, La; brothers Nelson Butler of Cleveland, OH and Ned Swiger of Longview, Texas, sisters Melody Butler Kellar and husband Karl of Livingston, TX, Beverly Butler of Livingston, Texas, Beth Garcia and husband Joe of Longview, Tx, and Lisa Whetzel of Longview, Texas. Step sisters Tammy Payne of Houston, Tx and Carla Meadows of Livingston, Tx; Three step daughters, Heather Kingham-Clayton and husband Buddy of Lake Charles, La and Tammy Rosteet of Lake Charles, LA and Jaimee Hetzler and husband Royce of Lake Charles, La; fourteen grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; one great niece. Chris was also loved and cherished as a sister by all of her in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Martha Crosby Swiger. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. The family wishes to thank the love and support given by the doctors, nurses and staff of The Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Oncology Department.
