Christine Rena' Kirkland

Christine Rena’ Kirkland, age 62, passed away on Monday April 1, 2024; born September 7, 1961 in Crowley, La. Raised in Richard, La. Later in life moved to Bayou Vista,La.

She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her son Brandon and the birth of her granddaughter Kylee. Christine enjoyed life to the fullest!! She loved having family gatherings, picking on her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed fishing, landscaping and working in her flower beds.

She is survived by her children Brandon Higginbotham and Dustin Kirkland, her grandchildren Kylee Higginbotham, Knox Kirkland, and Morissa Kirkland. Sisters Linda Lebouef (Chester) Cheryl Broussard (David) Deborah Clark (Steve) Barbara Taylor (Mark) Dorothy Young (Blake) Denise Cantrell (Anthony) Curleen Champagne (Dale) Brother Curtis Young Jr (Missy).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wava and Curtis Young and Dudley Duhon and her sister Gloria Landry.

The family would like to give special thanks to each and everyone of her caregivers at Grand Cove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Also a special thanks to her four Brighton Bridge Hospice Nurses.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
