Christopher Earl Gesner

Christopher Earl Gesner, 53, of Lake Charles passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in his residence.

Christopher was born on November 10, 1968 in Boulder, CO, was raised in Salinas, CA, and moved back to Colorado before moving to Lake Charles to be near his sisters.

He was a one of kind, with an unprecedented heart of gold and a congenial spirit, who enjoyed making others laugh.  Christopher was an avid fisherman and the #1 fan of the ACDC band and loved all rock and roll music. His most cherished moments were spending time with his family, especially his adored grandbabies.  Christopher also  had a tender love for animals, often regarded as the Dog Whisperer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his partner Patricia Sundquist, his siblings, Michael Gesner of Longmont, CO, Amy Vick (Scott) of Moss Bluff, and Jennifer Dorman (Ryan) of Lake Charles; his children, Jimmy Walker of California, Anthony Sundquist of California, and Rachel Hubbard of Colorado; beloved grandchildren, Joshelyn and Jochael Magalso; 2 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his dog Ziggy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and James Gesner and a daughter, Priscilla Walker.

An elegant lantern lighting ceremony will be held in Christopher’s memory at Prien Lake Park at sunset on June 27, 2022 under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  A gathering at the main pavilion will begin at 6:00 PM.
