Christopher Evans Johnson

Christopher Evans Johnson, 13 passed away on March 8, 2014. He was a student at Starks High School in the eighth grade. Christopher enjoyed dancing, music, amusement parks, video games, playing baseball and basketball, especially his coach, James Taco Holloway. He also loved to be in and around the water, being a big brother and his grandparents. Christopher was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly. Christopher is survived by his parents, Ashley Gibson and fianc, J.D. Laughlin and Christopher Milton and fianc, Krissy Crochet; grandparents, Roy Milton and wife, Ruby and Ricky Johnson and wife, Becky Nana ; great grandparents, Anthony Nix and Andrew Johnson and wife, Lou; brothers, Elliott, Goober , Grayson, Colton, Dylan, Kamran, Zachary and Gabrial; sisters, Carleigh, Scarlett, Azharae, Rae-Rae , Myah, Bayli, and Peyton; and a special uncle, Chad Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Youla Milton; great grandfather, Florence Milton; great grandmother, Leanna Nix; great grandfather, Charles Coppels; great grandmother, Yvonne Coppels and great aunt, Charlene Istre. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Welsh United Methodist Church of Vinton with Rev. Kathy Fitzhugh officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 2-9 p.m. at the church and will resume on Thursday at 10a.m.till time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Vinton Relay for Life .
