Christopher Scott Boudreaux, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Christopher Scott Boudreaux, Jr., 25 years young, on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Pavilion 2 of Sam Houston Jones State Park in Lake Charles, LA. Memorial Services will begin at 11 AM with “Chef’s Colorful Celebration” to follow...”until”. **Please, in honor of Christopher’s love of nature and admiration of all of its’ beautiful colors, we ask that black NOT be worn, as he would wish for us to highlight his life and not surround it by darkness.**

Christopher bounced into our world on Sunday, November 1, 1992, in Crowley, LA, and silently slipped away from our secular world to enter his spiritual world, on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at approximately 6 PM, in Nederland, CO. He was surrounded by friends—both new and old, and his beloved “Sal”, his “four-legged son”, who never left his daddy’s side. Being in Colorado, Christopher was in his own depiction of “heaven on earth”, when Our Father, his Jah, called him permanently home.

Left to honor and cherish his memory, is his precious son and most proud accomplishment, Merlin Ezra Boudreaux and the beautiful mother of their child, Laken Myree Shuman—her “Cheffie’s” Queen. Together, their souls connected and thankfully, have left us with our most treasured memory of our son, by the life they brought into this world together—their son, our grandson Merlin, who is his father’s perfect replica.

He is also survived by his mother, Bridget Redlich Cole and her spouse, his “bonus Dad”, Trevor D. Cole, of Sulphur, LA, his father, Christopher “Scott” Boudreaux, Sr., of Westlake, LA; his grandparents, Joey and Janice Redlich, of Big Lake, LA, Lee and Debbie Boudreaux, of Lafayette, LA and Bertha Cole of Sulphur, LA.

“Bubba” leaves behind his adoring siblings, Benjamin Ross, Julianna Claire and Andrew Grant Boudreaux, as well as Haleigh Renee, Brady Joseph and Lauren Elizabeth Cole. Also, his “bonus sister”, Chia-Jung “Ruby” Tsai, our exchange daughter from Taiwan, who along with all of his brothers and sisters, admired and enjoyed all of the love, light and laughter shared and memories they all made with their big brother.

Chris had a HOST of adoring aunts, uncles and cousins, both related and self-proclaimed, who will always fondly remember him and his infectious laugh, amazing bear hugs and “light up a room” beautiful smile. Simply being in his presence, brought a brightness to his surroundings.

This beautiful man, was the God-father to many children and was an angel on earth to even more individuals. He was instrumental in saving the lives of so many, although he couldn’t save his own. His numerous friends were his extended family and “Chef” had an impact that was immeasurable on every single life that he ever touched. He TRULY treasured his family, his “tribe” and life itself.

He was preceded in death by his special angel. Also, both his paternal, (Boudreaux/Carlin) and maternal, (Redlich/Gates) great-grandparents and his paternal grandmother, “Cookie” Boudreaux, all of Crowley, LA. Many of Chef’s friends have also gone before him as well, and tragically, were taken too soon, just as he was. May they all Rest In Peace “up high on that mountain”.

Christopher was such a beautiful, brilliant and big-hearted soul, whose main wish was to bring light where there was darkness and produce peace in his world of pain. In honor of him and in light of his life, I challenge everyone who was ever touched by his beautiful soul, to be empowered and motivated to carry on his mission—as a tribute to him and his legacy in life. Attaining his wishes would truly make our world a better place for us all and I know he will channel his positive energy to each of us, to give us strength to carry this on.

Our family sincerely thanks everyone for their love, support and well-wishes during this past week of devastation and mourning. Please know that we do not want his passing to be in vain, but rather to foster a forum to re-kindle old friendships and re-connect as a family of “togetherness” in his honor, in support of his precious, young son and for all of us who loved him and are struggling through this difficult time. Know that none of you are alone in your pain and that we, as “Chef’s” family, will ALL commit to assuring that Merlin will forever know what an amazing man his Daddy was.  Chef would also want us to all remember that, “Pain is inevitable...but Suffering is optional”.

I hope everyone can join us to honor his short, but impressionable life. We hope to truly represent his life and all he stood for through his celebration and everyone’s input is welcomed. I have loved hearing from everyone and those I’ve already seen...I sincerely appreciate you reaching out. And I look forward to many more moments to reminisce and share our time in his honor. I will forever cherish the privilege of being chosen to be his mom.
