Ruth Pittman, 94, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 6:30 PM in her home. Miss. Ruth was born on November 29, 1919 in Roseland, LA to Jim and Lillian Williams. She is a native of Roseland, LA but has resided in Lake Charles after moving from Pensacola, FL in 1945. She retired from Sears Department Store as a Sales Representative. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, where she was also a longtime Sunday School Teacher. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Diana Dyer and husband Harlan of Benton, MS and Debbie Pittman of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Tiny Pittman and wife Beverly of Lake Charles, LA; and seven grandchildren, Cindy Allen, Laura Gaddy, Julie Dyer, Missy Yates, Jake Pittman, Alison Landry and Erin Landry; three sisters, Joy Moore, Earnestine Holmes and Shorty Williams; and three brothers, Jr. Williams, Tommy Williams and John Lloyd Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, E.V. Pittman and son, Gary Pittman. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and will continue until the time of service. Dr. J.P. Miles will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family would like to give a special thanks to loving caregiver, Mary Brown for taking great care of their mother.
