Clara B. Manuel

December 15, 1926 — April 2, 2016

Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, went to sleep and woke in the arms of her Savior, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the age of 89.

“Bell” was born December 15, 1926 to Odeus and Lula Guillory in Mamou, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Isom Guillory, sister–in-law Bertie Guillory.  Husband of 46 years Joseph Pershing Manuel.   Also, second husband Paul Anthony Manuel.

Left to cherish the many wonderful memories of a beloved mother, and grandmother, are son Russ P. Manuel, and wife Lori.  Daughter Annette Onellion, and husband John.   The love for her children was magnified with the addition of three grandsons Rusty and Ryan Manuel, and William Onellion who lovingly called her maw-maw.   Blessings continued with a grand-daughter in law, Savannah, wife to Rusty.  The crowning jewels for Bell was the welcoming of twin great grandchildren, Cullen Joseph Manuel and Camille Harper Manuel.

She also leaves brother, Robert A. Guillory, sister, Linda G. Juranka and husband Gene. Step-Grandsons, Matthew Onellion, and Doug Peterson.  Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to being wife and mother, Bell worked outside the home to help provide for her family in various capacities.  She often spoke fondly of her days as a Bus Aide for the Calcasieu Parish School Board.

Bell was baptized to the Catholic Faith, January 27, 1927, and faithful parishioner of St Margaret Catholic Church, Lake Charles, LA throughout her life.  She also was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.

Always ready to enjoy her family, Bell opened her home, and served as hostess for most family events, holidays, and special occasions.  Family and friends were greeted with plenty of food, good spirits, laughter, and fun.
