Clarence James Jolivette, 54, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:05 PM on Friday, August 29, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Jolivette was born on September 24, 1959 in Lafayette, LA and lived in Lake Charles since 1994. He enjoyed barbequing with family and friends and he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Anquetta F. Jolivette of Lake Charles; three children, Kendall Rogers and husband Nate of Georgia and Jordan and Leslie Abraham both of Lake Charles; a step daughter, Corrie Purham of Tennessee; eleven siblings, Louis Jolivette, Jr. and wife Lorenza of LaPorte, TX, John Jolivette and wife Judy of Iowa, David Jolivette and wife Rosie of Katy, TX, Ronald Jolivette and wife Gloria of Jacksonville, FL, Leonard Jolivette and wife Paula, Anthony Jolivette and wife Janice, and Winnfield Jolivette and wife Lisa all of Lake Charles, Jacqueline Goodley of Katy, TX, Johanna Jolivette, Judy Papillion and husband Burnell all of Lake Charles, and Ophelia Shah and husband Nasir of Beaumont, TX; six in-laws, Germaine Leveen and husband Doland of Arizona, Daphne Abraham Henderson of Massachusetts, Melba Guillory and husband Lawrence of LeBleu Settlement, Fredrick Abraham and wife Latisha, Yolanda Victorian, and Patrick Abraham and wife Michelle all of Jennings; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Louise Jolivette, Sr.; his mother-in-law, Norma J. Abraham; two nephews; and one niece. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Henry Catholic Church. The Deacon Edward Lavine will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Saturday in the funeral home from 9:00 AM until leaving for the church at 11:00 AM. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Amedisys Hospice and also to the staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hopistal 2nd floor Oncology.
