Clarence Williams

Clarence Arthur Williams, 86, of Lake Charles died at 6:30 PM July 31, 2010 in a local care facility.


Mr. Williams was born in Alexandria Louisiana on January 16, 1923 to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis M. Williams. Clarence was a life long resident of the Lake Charles area. He was a graduate of Central Elementary School and a 1941 graduate of Lake Charles High School. Mr. Williams was a graduate of the Naval Engineering School and was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy. He served aboard the battleship USS Pennsylvania in the South Pacific. Mr. Williams was a long time member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #106 and was a member of the VFW Post # 2130 and a member of the American Legion post 401. He loved to fish.


Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Anna Mae (Goldie) Scallow Williams, by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Curtis M. Williams, by his sister Kathryn Williams Benton and a grandson Ricky Rothkamm.


He is survived by one daughter Kathy Lynn Williams Hidalgo and husband Tony, one brother Curtis Larry Williams and wife Barbara, three grandsons Jamey Rothkamm and wife Kathryn, David Scott Rothkamm and Mark Anthony Hidalgo, three great granddaughters Katie Belle, Audrey Ann, and Vivian Elizabeth Rothkamm.


Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from Highland Memorial Gardens. Johnson Funeral Home is in Charge of arrangements.
