Claude "Black" Conner

Claude “Black” Conner, 92, of Lake Charles died Friday March 23, 2018 in the comfort of his daughter’s home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.

Mr. Conner was a native of Lake Arthur and long-time resident of Lake Charles. He was retired from Texaco and was a member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Marjorie Marie “Gekie” Bertrand Conner. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories his children, Mary Skinner and husband James; Patrick Conner and wife Carolyn, all of Lake Charles; and Karen Conner-Hyatt and husband George, Denver, CO; sisters, Genevieve Hoffpauir and Florence Guidry, both of Lake Arthur and Catherine Broussard, Welsh; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday March 25, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 10:00 AM Monday March 26, 2018 with Monsignor Harry Grieg serving as the celebrant. Entombment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
