Claudette Marie Skellham

Claudette Marie Landry Skellham, 64, of Lake Charles died at 2:48 PM on Friday, July 15, 2016 in a local care facility.

 

Ms. Skellham was born on December 19, 1951 in Lake Charles where she lived most of her life and was a 1970 graduate of LaGrange High School.  She served in the US Navy.  She then attended and graduated McNeese State University in 1982 with a degree in Environmental Science and began a career with the state of Louisiana, retiring as a Regional Water Specialist.  Following retirement, she moved to Nevada and became a proud EMT.

 

She was a loving and dedicated mother who enjoyed cooking and dancing.  Ms. Skellham adored animals and rescued those in need.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Lee Skellham (Trish) of Iowa and Scott Skellham of Omaha, NE; two sisters, her twin, Brenda Sue Landry of Montella, NV and Margaret Higgins (Carl) of Lacassine; three grandchildren, Allen Lormand and Matthew and Abygail Skellham; two nieces, Elizabeth Sanders (Rusty) and Kathleen Higgins; and one nephew, Paul Higgins.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph D. Landry; mother, Joyce Buller Landry; and maternal grandparents, Gladys and Albert Buller.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Brandon Oliver will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
