Clayborn Lee Pinder, 63, of Arnaudville, LA passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016. Clayborn was born to Ozro and Bythia Pinder on June 27, 1953. He was raised in Starks and graduated from Starks High School in 1971. Clayborn then graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. He worked in the petroleum industry where his work took him all around the world, from Asia, to Egypt, to the Northern Sea and numerous locations in the United States both onshore and offshore. Clayborn loved to hunt and fish. He was also a great cook and gardener.
Clayborn is survived by his siblings, Retha Carol Hudson (Poss) of Vinton, Michael Wayne Pinder (Linda) of Starks, Desta Gay Robinson (Rusty) of Vinton, Donna Ann Edmonds (Jeff) of Burnett, TX, Carla Rae Brown (Steve) of Orange, TX, Kenneth Shane Pinder (Cheryl) of Starks; and numerous nieces and nephews. Clayborn is preceded in death by; his parents, Ozro Payne Pinder and Bythia Virginia Phillips, his grandmother, Ferbia Smith Phillips and one sister Sharon Pinder Mullens.
Services for Clayborn will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2 PM at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks with Reverend Damon Bickham officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Starks under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5-9 PM at the church and will resume on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 10 am until the time of service.
