Clayton Eldridge, 72, passed away on July 3, 2017.
Mr. Eldridge was born on November 4, 1944 to Ernest B. Eldridge and Allie Guthrie Eldridge in Benton, Mississippi. He was one of 19 children and worked on Mississippi cotton farms in his youth. Mr. Eldridge honorably served his country in the United States Army before retiring and starting a career as a pipefitter. He will be remembered for being a loving father and grandfather and a deeply devoted family man. He enjoyed classic country and rock and roll music and loved to joke and laugh and sing. He also enjoyed gambling and attending livestock shows and was a big supporter of the 4-H program.
He is survived by his sons, Chuck Thompson and Mark Eldridge; grandchildren, Savannah Benoit, Rebbecca Benoit, AmberLynn Poole, Kelsey Richard and Clayton Thompson; great grandchildren, Garen LaBiche, Abigail Richard, Addison Benny, Kaylee Ponthieux, and Remi Richard; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian Faye Eldridge; and two children, Phil Thompson and Stacy Eldridge.
His funeral service will be held Saturday July 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A private burial in Lacassine Cemetery will take place at a later date.
