Clayton William Blum

Clayton William Blum, 53, of Lake Charles, LA went home and was welcomed by his heavenly father at 2:05 AM on Friday, March 27, 2015. Mr. Blum was born May 27, 1961 in San Antonio, TX, was a 1979 graduate of Sam Houston High School, and attended McNeese State University. He worked as a mechanic for a number of years and was the store manager of AutoZone. He also had a passion for woodworking and worked as a carpenter for a number of years. Clay was raised in the Catholic faith. He will always be remembered as a kind hearted, gentle man who loved to help others. Mr. Blum is survived by his sons, William Cody Blum and wife Yanna-Men Blum and Shawn Christopher Blum, all of Lake Charles; mother, Judy Blum of Moss Bluff; sister, Mary Blum Burns and husband Earl Robert Burns, IV of Moss Bluff; brother, John Patrick Blum and wife Pamela of Carlyss; nieces, Candice Blum, Sarah Walker and husband Dustin, and Manon Burns; and his fiancée, Theresa Vallow of Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his father, William S. Blum, Jr. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM. Gathering will continue on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 2:00 PM.
