Clemmie Watkins Wren, 80, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday December 13, 2011 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Clemmie was born January 3, 1931 in Crossett, Arkansas to Roy and Bertie Gill Watkins. She has resided in Lake Charles since 1972 and retired as the office manager to Anthony LeBato, CPA after twenty-six years. She was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church and had served as secretary for the WMU for the Louisiana Baptist Convention. She loved music, crafts, and was a loving wife and mother. She loved to spoil her grand and great grandchildren, while always keeping a smile on her face.
Clemmie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Audrey Watkins and son-in-law Wesley Smith. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 63 years, Rev. Emmit Wren, Lake Charles; two daughters, Susan Wren Smith, Deville, LA and Becky Wren Farque and husband Brantley, Iowa; two sons, Michael Wren and wife Millie, Houma, LA and Paul Wren, Aurora, CO; one sister, Ann Root, Gulf Breeze, FL; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday December 17, 2011 at 12:00 PM, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev, Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, and continue from 9:00 AM until time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
