Clerde Berzas Wilson

Clerde Berzas Wilson, 97, of Lake Charles went to be with the Lord at 9:10 AM on Thursday, January 21, 2016. At the time of her passing she was at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Wilson was born on October 29, 1918 in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Clophas and Adonia Berzas. In 1946 she married Marvel “Blue” Wilson. Clerde and Blue began their life together in Lake Charles, where Clerde enjoyed raising their children and spending time with family and friends. After their children were grown, Clerde and Blue moved to Amity, AR and spent 17 years enjoying her husband’s family and their grandchildren. In 1993 they returned to Lake Charles where they spent their remaining years.  

She is survived by two sons, Archie Wilson of Lake Charles and Eddie Wilson, Sr., and wife Becky of Hope, AR; two daughters and their husbands, Mary Toomey and Tex of Lake Charles and Deanie Breaux and Sonny of Houston, TX; four grandsons, Jeffrey Breaux, Jeremy Wilson and wife Erin, Shane Yelverton and wife Patricia and J. P. DeGravelle and wife Bridgett; two granddaughters and their husbands, Bridgett Brantley and Dusty and Amanda Morphew and Jared; twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvel “Blue” Wilson, her parents, four brothers, one sister and two grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Becky Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00.
