Cleveland Junior Harris

April 14, 1930 — June 20, 2012

Cleveland "Pop" Junior Harris, 82 of Lake Charles died at 6:30 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Harris was born on April 14, 1930 in Letter Gap, West Virginia to the parents of Esta and Everett Harris. He has been a resident of Lake Charles since 1950. Mr. Harris was a graduate of Lake Chares High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Harris worked and retired from Olin Corporation as a B Operator for 40 years. He also worked as a service writer for Professional Automotive for 10 years. He attended Covenant Grace Church in Lake Charles. In his spare time he loved cutting the yard, gardening, and reading his bible.


He is survived by one son Dwight Harris of Lake Charles, LA, two daughters, Connie Davis and husband Bob of Shreveport, LA and Pat Kersch and husband Tom of Lake Charles, LA, one brother, James Harris of Ohio, one sister, Arlie Weber of Crow W.V., two grandchildren, Allyson Johnson of Portland, TX, and Kaycee Kersch of Lake Charles, LA.


Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his wife Rosebelle Harris, his parents, and 6 sisters.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. W. H. Yarborough and Susan Bankens will officiate. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 9:00 AM until the time of services.
