Clifford John Myers, 90, of Lake Charles passed away at 3:14 AM on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in a local hospice facility.
Mr. Myers was born on November 7, 1933 in Midland, LA and was raised in Jennings where he attended school. He served our country in the US Navy and belonged to the American Legion Post 1. Upon being honorably discharged, he moved to New Orleans and worked as a termite inspector. He then moved to Jennings and was a pest control exterminator for Orkin for many years before working for Terminex. In 1972 he moved to Lake Charles and began his own business, Cajun Bug Spray, until retirement. Mr. Myers was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
In his earlier years he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and going on family camping trips. He was an involved father who coached his daughter’s softball team.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Catherine Myers and Rebecca Felio both of Lake Charles; siblings, Curley Myers of Arizona, Steve Myers of Jennings; and Donald Myers (Myong) of Jennings; grandchildren, Kirsten, Brett, and Cody Felio; Godchildren, Chris Myers, Hope Grigsby, and Tina O’Blanc; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nedia Myers; daughter, Patricia Myers; son in law, Raymond Felio; parents, Rose and Casey Myers; and siblings, Shirley, Burly, Loveless, Harold, Russell, and RosaMay Myers, and Rita Sittig.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Prabhakar Kowtiki will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital, especially to Doctor Brian Kelley, and to the staff of Harbor Hospice for their exceptional care given to Mr. Myers.
