On November 11th 2015, Mr. Rhodes entered eternal rest at a local care facility. He was a proud Marine, having served in the Korean Conflict in 1953. When Mr. Rhodes was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1954, he began his illustrious career as a ship boat captain and a tug boat captain out of Cameron, Louisiana for over 20 years. Mr. Rhodes traveled all over the world taking multiple trips overseas. He also served his community as a part time deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was a local musician that had a passion for playing the guitar, and played with some of the best names in Cajun and Country music.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 26 years, Barbara Vincent Rhodes; his 3 grandsons, Chris James and his fiancé Krissi Thomas of Sulphur, Brandon James and his fiancé Katelyn Daigle of Sulphur, and Ryan Authement and fiancé Jessi Parish of Ohio. As well as Paw’s loves of joy, his 5 great grandchildren, Brianna James, Trae James, Taylor James, and Adalyn James, all of Sulphur, and Chayson Authement of Ohio.
Mr. Rhodes’ children include, Richard Kiefe of Cameron, Darlene Lowe of Mittie, and Tena. He has one sister, Shirley Rhodes of Lake Charles.
Those greeting him in Heaven are his parents, Clifford Rhodes Sr. and Edna Rhodes, his beloved stepdaughter, Allie “Lynette” Billeaud and beloved stepson, Ray Billeaud, his sister Juanita Fontenot and brother Herman Rhodes.
