Clifton Clarence Bridges, Jr., 72, of Moss Bluff passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Bridges was born in Vernon Parish, LA to Clifton and Winnie Bridges. He lived his life, with the love of his life, Elaine Bridges, in Moss Bluff. He served the United States Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He retired at the age of 54 from CITGO Petroleum, formerly Cities Service, following twenty- eight years of service. Mr. Bridges was a founding member and Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #21. He was always busy with great love for nature and the outdoors and talent for design and building things. Mr. Bridges, along with his wife Elaine, built three homes from the ground up. Mr. Bridges gift of adventurous storytelling and contagious laughter will be greatly missed. His spirit of life and his joy in sharing it with his family will be forever cherished. He leaves to honor his memory, two sons, Barry Wayne Bridges and wife Heather of Boise, ID and their children, Courtney VanVorce and Caitlyn Bridges and Bradley Scott Bridges and wife Stephani of Moss Bluff and their children, Tanner Bazinet, Tatum Bridges and Tucker Bridges. He also leaves his mother, Winnie Hardin Bridges of Buna, TX; two brothers, Joseph Bridges Sr. of Vidor, TX and Leon Bridges of Nacogdoches, TX; four sisters, Patricia LeBlanc of Vidor, TX, Sherry Kidder of Nederland, TX, Catherine Schexnider of LaMarque, TX and Dorothy Anderson of Lumberton, TX and numerous, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Jessie Elaine Austin Bridges; father, Clifton C. Bridges. Sr.; three brothers, Lee Coy, Leonard and Carl Bridges and three sisters, Mildred Goodman, Betty Stephens and Shirley Bridges. A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 06, 2014 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father John Huckaby will officiate. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until 12:15 PM in the funeral home.
