Clovis Richard, Jr., 84, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Richard was born and raised in Church Point, LA and lived sixty-two years in Lake Charles. He worked his younger years as a share cropper and at a grocery store. He worked most of his life in the Grocery industry, having retired Store Manager after many years with George Theriot. Mr. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking, especially for family gatherings. He will be most remembered as a man, very devoted to his faith.
He leaves to honor his loving wife of sixty-four years, Sadie Thibodeaux Richard of Lake Charles; two daughters, Sharlotte Guidry and husband Dean of Houma and Grace Cryer of Moss Bluff; one son, Marshall Richard and wife Libby of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Richard, Sr. and wife Vina of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis, Sr. and Edith Guidry Richard; two brothers, Paul Russell Richard and Mervin Richard and two sisters, Ethel Richard and Ura Bellard.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Laurence Catholic Church Cemetery in Mowata, LA. Visitation Friday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
