Cody James Meaux

Cody James Meaux 19, died in a car accident on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. in Converse, LA. He was a native of Sulphur and lived in Converse, LA. He attended Sulphur High and Converse High. Cody was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and First Baptist of Converse. He was a CYO member and loved being with all church members. Cody also loved fishing, football, church activities and children. Cody is survived by his mother, Jamie Jackson and husband, Steven of Many, LA; grandmother, Della Duplechin of Sulphur; grandfather, Paul Duplechin of Leesville, LA; sisters, Kelsey Raborn and husband, John of Converse, LA and Katherine Wood of LaPorte, TX; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; god parents, Wesley Fontenot, Jr. of Toledo Bend and Phyllis Smith of Sulphur; girl friend, Lori Broadus of Converse ,LA; and the Austin, Barnhill and Raborn families. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mary Fontenot; aunt, Tammy Campbell; uncle, Wayne Fontenot and uncle, Jimmy Meaux. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father James Winiarski officiating. There will be a spiritual service at 12 noon prior to going to Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Revs. Marvin Leleux and Lon Almeida officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 10a.m.-9p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 6p.m. followed by a cursillo rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume on Thursday at 9 a.m. until time of the service. Pall-bearers will be Brian Sims, Dayton Sims, Cuoz Matt, Dylan Clopton, Wade Viator, and Brett Leger. Honorary will be Michael Sims, Zack Austin, Craig Matt, Jr., Lane Craig, Brandon Craig, Aaron Melder, Brandon Leger, and John Williams. The family would like to send a special thanks to all his friends, family and Mrs. Sam Melder for all their help in their time of need.
