Colby Callaway

July 2, 1991 — July 11, 2023

Cpl. Colby Callaway, 32, passed away on July 11, 2023.

He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps for four years where he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class at the conclusion of the Crucible. He was a decorated Combat Veteran who served in Afghanistan. His four year service concluded at the rank of Corporal with an honorable discharge which lead to the beginning of a career in the petrochemical industry. His number one passion was coaching his daughter’s softball team. His family was his whole world. He was an excellent mechanic who enjoyed working with his hands. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing as often as he could.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 10 years Lacey Callaway; daughter, Carli Callaway; parents, Joe and Danielle Meaux; siblings, Clay Meaux and Melissa Meaux; Aunt Pam (MeMe) Hoffpauir; uncles, Bill Hoffpauir and Ronnie Callaway Jr. and wife Angie; as well as numerous other beloved family members, friends, and brothers in arms.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronnie Keith Callaway Sr., and Patricia Raye Waller.

A celebration of his life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
